Cover letter — for the Cbus Property marketing team

Dear Cbus Property team,

I'm applying for the Content Manager contract. The role sits exactly where I work best — stewarding a brand and bringing strategy to life through communications, digital channels and content — so rather than just claim "strong brand and content skills," I built a live hub with real Cbus Property brand content inside it. You can review everything before we speak:

Let me be straight about who I am, because the standard I work to starts with honesty. I'm a content, communications, social and digital operator — EDMs and newsletters, social planning and publishing, content calendars, website management, brand-consistent content and performance reporting are my daily work, and they're the core of this role. Door 02 holds real Canva pieces I built using your own projects and messaging — a development milestone announcement, a sustainability social tile and an event invitation — plus a content calendar, a corporate-event run-sheet and an EDM in the Cbus Property voice. Door 03 is a concept for running brand, comms, social, events and website as one consistent system.

What I bring beyond the obvious: a detail-first foundation — an English Literature degree for clear corporate writing, a Law degree for following brand governance and style guides exactly, and years of Australian government work managing multiple stakeholders, projects and deadlines in a careful, high-trust environment. That stakeholder discipline is what brand consistency across a $7.8B developer really runs on.

Where I'd lean on your team and grow: end-to-end corporate events management — launches, activations, suppliers and budgets — is the part of this role I'm least experienced in; I'd lean on Cbus Property's established events program and partners while owning the content and project coordination around them. I'm also new to the property/development sector and would ramp on it quickly, and WordPress specifically is a fast ramp from my hands-on web work rather than years of it. I'd rather tell you that now than at interview.

I'm Melbourne-based, available immediately, comfortable on-site at Collins Street and hybrid, and genuinely energised by brand work with real scale and craft behind it. I'd welcome the chance to talk it through.

How I fit — the brief, point by point

Mapped honestly against your responsibilities and requirements. Bronze = a clear strength. Amber = where I'd grow into it or lean on your established program. No point is hidden.

— Growth edge
WordPress specifically
A fast ramp from hands-on web work (I've worked with WordPress and other CMS/static stacks) rather than years of WordPress — honest "highly regarded," not yet expert.
Ramp

Formal marketing qualification
My degrees are English Literature (communications) and Law (governance), not Marketing — strongly communications-relevant, and honest about the exact discipline.

A quick read · the role's real shape

Framed as a content manager's read of the role, not a critique — where I see the work landing and where the value compounds.

— Observation 01 · Strength
This is a brand-consistency engine, across five channels
The role spans brand governance, comms, social, events and website — five channels that must say one thing. The multiplier is the system that keeps them consistent: one style guide, one calendar, one voice. Building and running that system is exactly where I'm strongest.
— Observation 02 · Honest fit
Events is where I partner, not pretend
"Lead the planning and delivery of corporate events" is a real part of this role and my least-experienced area. The honest answer for a 12-month cover isn't to overstate it — it's to own the content, comms and project coordination around events and lean on Cbus Property's established program, suppliers and team, while ramping fast.
— Observation 03 · Opportunity
A maternity cover needs someone productive from week one
A 12-month cover can't afford a long ramp. My AI-assisted workflow (Door 04) is built to produce and report across channels fast — so the brand keeps its standard and rhythm through the cover without dropping a beat.
